Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Ruth 1:16 NIV So she (Ruth) left and went and gleaned in the field … and she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech. Ruth 2:3 NASB PROVIDENCE: When God uses natural circumstances to bring about His supernatural plans. Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem and said to the reapers, “May the Lord be with you.” And they said to him, “May the Lord bless you.” Ruth 2:4 If someone shows you who they really are, believe them. Then Boaz said to his servant …, “Whose young woman is this?” Ruth 2:5 NASB 4 Qualities of Ruth
    1. Faithful to God
    2. Loyal to family
    3. Hard worker
    4. Honored God morally
Then Boaz said to Ruth, “…Do not go to glean in another field; …but join my young women here. 9…I have ordered the servants not to touch you. When you are thirsty, go to the water jars and drink from what the servants draw.” Ruth 8-9 NASB 14At mealtime Boaz said to her, “[a]Come here, that you may eat of the bread and dip your piece of bread in the vinegar.” … he [b]served her roasted grain, and she ate and was satisfied and had some left. 15When she rose to glean, Boaz commanded his servants, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not insult her. 16Also you shall purposely pull out for her some grain from the bundles…, and do not rebuke her.” Ruth 2:14-16 NASB So she gleaned in the field until evening. Then she beat out what she had gleaned, and it was about an [a]ephah of barley. Ruth 2:17

    4 Qualities of Boaz
    1. He honors her
    2. He protects her
    3. He provides for her
    4. He prays for her
Her mother-in-law then said to her, “Where did you glean today and where did you work? May he who took notice of you be blessed.”… Ruth 2:19 NASB It’s a good sign when those who love you most like who you like! …“The man is our relative; he is one of our redeemers.” Ruth 2:20 Boaz is potentially a kinsman redeemer

Kinsman-redeemer: a relative who had the responsibility to provide for a family member in time of need

Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself, and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not reveal yourself to the man until he has finished eating and drinking. 4And it shall be when he lies down, that you shall take notice of the place where he lies, and you shall go and uncover his feet and lie down; then he will tell you what you should do.” Ruth 3:3-4 NASB Sometimes you may have to go after what you want. It happened in the middle of the night that the man was startled and [a]bent forward; and behold, a woman was lying at his feet. 9He said, “Who are you?” And she answered, “I am Ruth your maid. So spread your covering over your maid, for you are a [b]close relative. (redeemer)” Ruth 3:8-9 11Now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you whatever you [a]ask, for all my people in the [b]city know that you are a woman of excellence. Ruth 3:11
